British actor Idris Elba has described Lagos as “the most amazing city in the world,” praising its energy and creative talent.
Elba made the remarks during an interview with etalk TV on the red carpet of the recently held TIFF Tribute Awards, where he reflected on his time filming Dust to Dreams in Nigeria.
The award-winning star said his Lagos experience left him with unforgettable memories, adding that the city’s vibrancy and pool of talent stood out.
“There are so many memories. Lagos, if you have never been there, is the most amazing city in the world. I had a great time. The talent there is incredible,” Elba said.
He highlighted a standout moment when British singer Seal, whose full name is Henry Olusegun Samuel, acted in his Nigerian accent as a nod to his heritage. Elba described the performance as “a real blessing.”
The actor also praised the collaboration between Seal and Nigerian singer Konstance, who performed a song written for the film. According to him, the performance was one of the project’s defining moments.
