Arsenal's title hopes fade with costly defeat to West Ham

West Ham dealt a huge blow to Arsenal’s Premier League title chances with a 1-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Jarrod Bowen’s first-half header secured the win for the visitors, who had struggled for form with just one win in their previous eight games.

The loss leaves second-place Arsenal eight points behind league leaders Liverpool, missing a key opportunity to close the gap. Their frustrations were compounded when left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly received a red card after a VAR review, marking the team’s fifth dismissal of the season under Mikel Arteta.

Injuries to key attackers—Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Jesus—left Arsenal struggling to create chances, managing just two shots on target. With Liverpool set to face Manchester City on Sunday, the gap at the top could widen even further, making Arsenal’s title challenge even more difficult.
