In a bid to make voter registration more seamless and accessible for residents of Onigbongbo LCDA, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, has inaugurated the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) Committee and supplied laptops and printers to all wards to fast-track the pre-registration process.
To drive effective implementation, Hon. Adebanjo constituted a 10-man committee saddled with the responsibility of mobilization and oversight across the LCDA. The committee includes:
The Party Chairman
Councillors
CDC representatives from each ward
Market men and women representatives from each ward
Two religious representatives from each ward
Youth leaders to mobilize young people
Councillors providing representatives from major ethnic groups (Arewa, Igbo, Yoruba) across the six wards
The committee is chaired by Alhaji Akinola Rasheed. Also present at the inauguration were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Shamsideen Oloyede Akerele; the LGA Party Secretary, Hon. Abolade Camil Rufai; and councillors representing the six wards — Hon. Francis Nkwo, Hon. Khadijah Dosunmu, Hon. David Orukpe, Hon. Folu Omotesho, Hon. Lekan Ige, and Hon. Alabi Yusuf.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo underscored the importance of civic participation, urging the committee, councillors, and youth leaders to intensify mobilization efforts for residents to register, correct errors on their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs), and encourage others to do the same.
“This is the beginning of performing your civic duties as residents of this great LCDA. We must bring registration closer to the people and make it easier for every eligible resident to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card,” he said.
The initiative is designed to make voter registration more convenient and inclusive, ensuring no eligible resident of Onigbongbo LCDA is left out of the democratic process.
