Security agents in Ogun State have arrested two officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and a politician over alleged vote-buying during Saturday’s by-election.
The suspects were apprehended at a hotel in Iperu-Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area, following an intelligence tip-off.
A viral video from the scene showed a male and female INEC staff being questioned by security personnel while squatting on the floor.
During the interrogation, the officer alleged that the officials had earlier collected a huge sum of money from political actors to compromise the electoral process.
