Abubakar Sanusi Paris, popularly known on social media as “Salim Paris” is currently heading the Corporate Strategy and Quality standard department of a telecommunication company. He is also Adamawa State coordinator of AtikuKawai media group. In this interview with Yusuf Mohammed, publisher of the The Columnist Ng, Paris talks about Atiku’s electoral chances on Saturday.
The Columnist Ng: How significant has AtikuKawai been in Atiku’s quest to win the presidential election come Saturday?
Paris: The group is founded by Abdulrasheed Shehu, the S.A broadcast media to His Excellency Atiku Abubakar. We have been operating for the past three years, promoting H.E, and as promised, some of us are officially being carried along as part of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) media team.
AtikuKawai as a group has been very significant, considering the townhall meetings it hosted across the six geo political zones across the country, which gives the group members an edge to perform exceptionally well throughout the campaign as PCC media members, as a result of the wide spread structure it has both on social media and the grass-root mobilization.
The Columnist Ng: Why should Nigerians vote for Atiku Abubakar?
Paris: I am an alumni of the university he founded, and I was opportune to have experienced first-hand, his zeal to create employment, and his philanthropic work is something I must say very few Nigerians can match him.
I’m also opportune to be a friend to some of his children and his aides, most times I seat close to him where he has private conversations; 99% of the time he is engaging well-meaning Nigerians on how we can all come together in unity and share ideas on how to grow our country. He is a man that is in touch with the 21st century. Besides, we have his track record that speaks so highly of him:
-A successful business man, with the highest labor force in Adamawa state
-An Educationist
-A philanthropist
-A V.P that performed during his time, to the extent of blocking the 3rd term agenda.
He is just different because leadership skills is top notch, and his experience will guide him in taking critical decisions.
The Columnist Ng: Are the northern youths behind him?
Paris: As a Pan Nigerian that he is, every youth that has Nigeria at heart, is with H.E Atiku, not just the northern youths.
The Columnist Ng: Are you worried about Peter Obi getting votes that used to be for the PDP in the past?
Paris: Maybe if the election is to be conducted on social media I will be worried about that.
The Columnist Ng: Are you confident about Atiku winning tomorrow?
Paris: I think I am more confident than the candidate himself, because I relate directly with the voters, and I hear and see the real situation at hand.
Like I’ve always been saying: “Congratulations President Elect Atiku Abubakar”
The Columnist Ng: What would be your message to Nigerians irrespective of the result of this election?
Paris: My message to Nigerians is: Atiku is a nationalist, if elected tomorrow 25-02-2023, he will work with every Nigerian, from every corner of our country.
No one will be left out or marginalized, and to best of my knowledge in Atiku’s biography, he is always a grass to grace leader, and I am sure with his wealth of experience, he will turn around the ugly situation of our country to a better situation.
