Wellbeing & Lifestyle: Don’t compare yourself to others – Betty Irabor

Founder of Genevieve Magazine, Mrs Betty Irabor launched her Wellbeing & Lifestyle series on Sunday, March 21, 2021. Nigerian women from all walks of life looked forward to this event. Many women who have reached the peak of their various fields did not miss out.

The virtual meeting which was moderated by Stephanie Busari of CNN was mainly about encouraging women to be intentional about living life.

According to Irabor, “I have not always lived my life with intention. I was hard on myself with over expectations. I pushed myself trying to build a successful career, be a wife and a mother. The result was downward spiral into a dark place.

“Surviving meant I could not leave my health and wellbeing to chance and luck.

“Living intentionally means you curate your life. Be careful what you feed your mind and body. Live life whole not in part. It means adopting a healthy lifestyle because our wellbeing should come first.”

The media icon further advised women to stop comparing themselves to other people. “Don’t compare yourself to others. Stop saying you are not good enough. Have non-toxic conversations with yourself. Avoid the cancer of comparing yourself to others.

You are a queen! Design your life and have a plan. Intentional living is a lifestyle, it is a habit. Take yourself to the spa. Have friends you can confide in.”
